Cote de Pablo, the much loved Ziva David in CBS drama NCIS, has been tapped to star in CBS miniseries, The Dovekeepers. Based on Alice Hoffman’s bestseller about the Siege of Masada, The Dovekeepers comes from producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, who produced the 10-hour miniseries The Bible for History.
The novel tells the story of four women whose lives intersect during the siege. De Pablo will play Shirah, a fiercely independent single mother. The Dovekeepers will be broadcast in 2015. For more, follow the jump.
Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, whose Son of God was an unexpected hit during its theatrical run, are teaming up with Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to produce a remake of the classic film, Ben-Hur.
The film will be directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Nightwatch, Wanted) from a script by Keith Clarke (The Way Back) for release on February 26th, 2016. For more details, check out the price list after the jump.
NBC has greenlit A.D., a twelve-hour miniseries to follow up History’s cable hit, The Bible. A.D. will be produced by LightWorkers Media with Mark Burnett and Roma Downey – the creators behind The Bible miniseries.
A.D.’s first episode will show the final moments of the Cruifixtion and carry on from there. The miniseries will likely air in spring 2015. Check out the press release, following the jump, for further details.
Mark Burnett and Roma Downey are moving their act from cable to broadcast. The producers of cable hit The Bible have sold a four-hour miniseries based on Alice Hoffman’s The Dovekeepers to CBS. The miniseries will follow four women whose lives intersect in 70 C.E. during the siege at Masada – in which 900 Jews held out for months against the might of the Roman legions.
