This Week at the Alamo – Cult Japanese classic Battle Royale and Nasty Baby!

AlamoDrafthouse

There’s a great programming of weirdness going on at Ashburn’s Alamo Drafthouse this weekend. The folks over there are showing the cult classic Battle Royale which many claim The Hunger Games supposedly borrows heavily from. I don’t buy it, but the story line is definitely similar. But this being a Japanese film it’s much, much, more brutal. The movie is airing Saturday night which makes for a nice double feature with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 2.  Also showing this weekend Anchorman and the Kristen Wiig Indie flick Nasty Baby. Here’s this week’s calendar.
