Spider-man Shattered Dimensions first hit my radar earlier this year when I got an advanced eyes on look at Wonder Con, in August (on my Birthday, ironically enough) I had the chance to attend Activision’s Gamer’s Day event in New York and get some hands on time with it. Activision, was annoying though because they wouldn’t let us take any video of the event and we had to adhere to so many different embargo dates that I threw my hands up and decided to wait until this week to start posting impressions. The game is available for all platforms today. Check out this Exclusive Interview with one of the Producers. You can see my quick impressions after the break.
I got a chance to play all four levels of the game and it’s a very intriguing concept of being able to play four different variations of old Web Head. Each level did have it’s own unique feel to it, I especially loved the Noir level which clearly borrows heavy from Batman Arkham right down to how Spidey’s Spider Sense works and I loved the design of the bit that I played with 2099. I didn’t like the Venom level that much at all it was too mindless and pointless – but I only played it for a few minutes. The other major concern that I had was how generic the Enemies were from world to world. Each world had it’s own unique look and feel, but the enemies all looked the same. Activision is sending me a review copy at some point, but I went ahead and purchased on Amazon. Look for the review next week, in the meantime check out this Exclusive Video Interview with one of the producers.
