FOX’s New Girl has been picked up for a sixth season. The announcement was made earlier today by David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.
The next new episode of the series airs tonight at 8/7C. Details follow after the break.

An All-New NEW GIRL Airs Tonight at 8/7c on FOX
FOX has renewed comedy series NEW GIRL for its sixth season, it was announced today by David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.
“Every network comedy should aspire to what Liz Meriwether is achieving in NEW GIRL, with its bravura dialogue, inventive and witty performances by the talented cast and emotionally engaging storytelling,” said Madden. “The series is as creatively strong today as it ever was, we want to congratulate NEW GIRL on reaching its milestone 100th episode and we can’t wait for the next subversive and hilarious chapter of these characters’ lives.”
In the next all-new episode of NEW GIRL, airing tonight (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) is served a restraining order by her former boyfriend, Sam (guest star David Walton), and sets out to clear her name with Winston’s (Lamorne Morris) help. Meanwhile, Nick (Jake Johnson) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) plot against the owner of a trendy new bar (guest star Busy Philipps) that opened on their street.
As the series heads toward its Season Five finale and the wedding of Schmidt and Cece (Hannah Simone), additional guest stars appearing on NEW GIRL include Megan Fox, who returns as Reagan; and Damon Wayans, Jr., reprising his role as Coach; as well as Nasim Pedrad (SCREAM QUEENS), Sonequa Martin-Green (“The Walking Dead”), Kal Penn (“House”), Rob Riggle (FOX NFL SUNDAY), Meghan Rath (COOPER BARRETT’S GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE), Nora Dunn (“Saturday Night Live,”), Kim Wayans (“In Living Color”) and Peter Gallagher (“Togetherness”).
NEW GIRL is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The series was created by Elizabeth Meriwether. Meriwether, Brett Baer, Dave Finkel, Jake Kasdan, Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope are executive producers, with Meriwether, Baer and Finkel serving as co-showrunners/writers.
