CBS has announced its first digital CBS Summer Preview show, hosted by Julie Chen.
The CBS Summer Preview is available online, on mobile devices and television, today through July 14th. The 10-minute will be available on CBS.com, the CBS App, select CBS Audience Network partner sites and participating CBS stations’ sites.
It highlights four CBS summer shows: Zoo, Extant, Under the Dome, Big Brother plus The Late Late Show with James Corden. Details follow the jump.

CBS SUMMER PREVIEW, hosted by Julie Chen, host of BIG BROTHER and THE TALK, is the Network’s first digital special highlighting its original summer fare. Available on demand online, on mobile devices and on television Tuesday, June 16 – Tuesday, July 14, the 10-minute program provides viewers with convenient access anytime to information about the Network’s soon-to-debut lineup.
The special, to be promoted on-air on CBS, will be available on CBS.com (www.cbs.com/summer), the CBS App (www.cbs.com/mobile/), select CBS Audience Network partner sites and participating CBS stations’ sites. It can also be viewed on television via the Network’s various cable, satellite and telco partners.
In addition to previews of this summer’s new drama ZOO and the returning event series UNDER THE DOME and EXTANT, CBS SUMMER PREVIEW will feature a taste of the hit reality series BIG BROTHER and CBS’s new buzzworthy late night series THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN, which will air new shows during much of June, July and August.
Included in the special:
- ZOO: A sneak peek of this new drama series which is based on the #1 bestselling novel by James Patterson. The series premieres Tuesday, June 30.
- EXTANT: An exclusive interview with Halle Berry and her new co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan discussing Season Two of the popular event series. The season premiere airs Wednesday, July 1.
- UNDER THE DOME: Those who missed the first two seasons – or who simply need a refresher – can catch up with an exciting and easy-to-digest graphic novel-formatted recap of this top-rated event series based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel. The season premiere airs Thursday, June 25.
- BIG BROTHER: A video montage of the best moments from last season to whet viewers’ appetites for the return of this reality series favorite. The special two-night season premiere airs Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25.
- THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN: A humorous highlights reel from the first few months of this much-buzzed-about show, which has already garnered a Critics Choice Awards nomination.
Julie Chen serves as host and moderator of THE TALK, CBS’s Daytime Emmy Award-nominated talk show that examines topical events and contemporary issues through the eyes of five female hosts, including Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood. In addition, Chen hosts the hit summer reality series BIG BROTHER.

BIG BROTHER, hosted by Julie Chen, begins its 17th season with a two-night premiere on Wednesday, June 24 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and Thursday, June 25 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). This reality series follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 80 high-definition cameras – four more than last season – and more than 100 microphones recording their every move, 24 hours a day. Each week, the Houseguests will vote someone out of the house. At the end, the last remaining Houseguest will receive the grand prize of $500,000. Following the two-night premiere, BIG BROTHER will air Sundays beginning June 28 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and the live eviction show on Thursdays beginning July 2 (9:00-10:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT).
UNDER THE DOME, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, begins its third season with a special two-hour broadcast on Thursday, June 25 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT). On Thursday, July 2, it moves to its regular 10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT time slot. This event series tells the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Eddie Cahill, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Mackenzie Lintz and Kylie Bunbury star. Marg Helgenberger and Eriq La Salle will each guest star in multiple episodes.
ZOO, premiering Tuesday, June 30 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) and based on the #1 bestselling novel by James Patterson, is a global thriller about a wave of violent animal attacks against humans sweeping the planet. James Wolk, Kristen Connolly, Billy Burke, Nonso Anozie and Nora Arnezeder star.
EXTANT begins its second season Wednesday, July 1 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT). This mystery thriller is about female astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry), who discovers she has unwittingly put the human race on a path to destruction, and that she and a mysterious stranger (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) may be the only hope for survival. Pierce Gagnon and Grace Gummer also star.
James Corden took the reins as host of THE LATE LATE SHOW on Monday, March 23, 2015. The 36-year-old Corden comes to American late night television with a growing list of award-winning and critically acclaimed credits. He is a Tony Award-winning performer on Broadway, a BAFTA-winning star of a UK television series, a feature film actor with two releases this year, and an acclaimed host, writer and producer in several genres of television. THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN airs weeknights (12:37-1:37 AM, ET/PT).
