I miss the days when Networks were smart and actually released TV Blu-rays at the BEGINNING of summer. I don’t understand the point of releasing a TV Series a few days before the next season starts. Well, the point is, it’s cheaper for them to market because they are already marketing the season premiere and the assumption is people may naturally start looking for the Blu-ray/DVD? In reality though, who is going to binge watch a TV Series a few days before the new TV season starts? Considering there are “million” other shows and TV on DVD being released at the same time?
Anyhoo, rant aside, Warner Home Video is releasing season 1 of Gotham on September 8th. I recapped the series up until episode 15 before I threw my hands up. All the breaks after the X-Mas holidays ruined the flow and lets face it the last 5 eps of the season were terrible. However, I suspect it’ll play a LOT better as watching the show as a complete thing. So I’m looking forward to revisiting.
The Blu-ray is going to include the following:
- Gotham Invented: Building Our Gotham
- Gotham Invented: Paving the Way for the Caped Crusader
- Gotham Invented: Fractured Villains of Gotham
- Designing the Fiction
- The Game of Cobblepot
- Gag Reel
- Unaired Scenes
- DC Comics Night at Comic-Con 2014 Presenting Gotham, The Flash, Constantine and Arrow
- GOTHAM: The Legend Reborn
- Character Profiles:
- Detective Harvey Bullock
- Detective James Gordon
- Oswald Cobblepot
- Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth
