After a rather lightweight Hercules movie earlier this year, finally we get the first look at the far more muscular Paramount Pictures version. Directed by Brett Ratner, Hercules stars Dwayne Johnson and has a much more mythic feel. The trailer (check it out after the jump) gives us glimpses of Johnson executing the Twelve Tasks of Hercules under a narrator intoning, ‘No matter how far you go, man cannot escape his fate…’ Already, the opening seconds of the trailer have blown that other movie out of the water.
Hercules, based on Radical Comics’ revisionist graphic novel by Steve Moore, will descend upon theaters on July 25th.
Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ film HERCULES, starring Dwayne Johnson, bows on July 25th. Based on Radical Comics’ Hercules by Steve Moore, this ensemble-action film is a revisionist take on the classic myth, HERCULES. The epic action film also stars Golden Globe Winner Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan and Academy Award®-nominee John Hurt.
