“Far From Heaven” is a glossy soap opera of the
50’s, covering subjects taboo in films at the time.
Performances are excellent; recreation of the
look of the time is exceptional. Certainly an
Oscar contender in a variety of categories.
However, definitely not for today’s typical
moviegoer who likely will find it bewildering
and slow.
