On August 21st, we’re asking American families to tune in for the most important conversation they’ll have all year!  Join us for a one-hour, commercial-free program, We Day, and explore today’s greatest social issues – bullying, body image, mental illness, ability, literacy, inner-city violence, environment and so much more.   We’re hoping you will help us spread the word by sharing the We Day PSA video. We Day will be airing commercial-free on ABC on August 21st at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.

As part of the broadcast we’ve got a number of outstanding young people across America who are making a difference in their respective communities and whose stories will be part of our prime-time special, like:

Ezra Frech, 9 years old (California) – Ezra was born with a congenital anomaly resulting in the amputation of his left leg and the relocation of his toe to his hand to serve as a thumb, Ezra embraces his differences with the ultimate goal to participate in the Paralympics.

Ally Del Monte, 17 years old (Connecticut) – Ally’s story centers on her personal journey from bullying and depression to inspiring her peers to #BeBrave. Her blog Losergurl is helping change her life and the lives of other young Americans dealing with bullying.

Jessica Carscadden, 11 years old (California) – Jessica lived the first five years of her life in an orphanage with nothing to call her own. Born with a facial abnormality, Jessica was abandoned at birth in China and adopted by an American family at five.  Jessica started a project called “We Care Bears” with an aim to provide local police and fire departments with stuffed animals for kids they encounter who may be scared or injured. To date, they have provided more the 1,300 bags of stuffed animals to first responders. Check out here story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAS-6gHBs84&feature=youtu.be
