Denzel Washington’s OCD vigilante/ex-CIA operative is back – and he’d really like a 5-star rating in the new trailer for The Equalizer 2.
The Equalizer 2 – and Washington’s first-ever sequel – stalks into theaters on July 20th.
Mike (Jesse Eisenberg) is the prototypical stoner/convenience store clerk – or so it seems. When a CIA agent (Connie Britton) makes a purchase while spouting what sounds to Mike like gibberish, his first response is, ‘Is that a lyric from something?’
But when he catches two guys messing with his car, suddenly he’s Jason Bourne – and the guys messing with car (CIA agents, WTF?) are dead. When he tells his girlfriend, Phoebe (Kristen Stewart), her first response is ‘That’s awesome.’ (Clearly she doesn’t believe him.)
Now Mike and Phoebe are in a situation – life, death, the future of the world at stake, yadda-yadda-yadda.
American Ultra was written by Max Landis (Chronicle) and directed by Nima Nourizadeh (Project X). It opens on August 21st. Check out the trailer after the jump.
