Heroes Reborn is Officially Cancelled

Just a few days ago NBC released the synopsis for the season finale of Heroes Reborn titled “Project Reborn.” Today comes word that this season finale will also serve as a series finale, as the second outing of the Heroes franchise is officially cancelled. No big surprise considering the ratings have been steadily declining ever since the series premiered. NBC chairman Bob Greenblat made the announcement at the TCA press tour. Fortunately this one-season revival was always meant to be a limited story, giving hope that viewers will get closure and not be left hanging when the last episode airs on January 21. When asked whether more would come after the stories ran their course for these characters Mr. Greenblat responded, “That was always the plan, unless Tim [creator Tim Kring] woke up one day and said, ‘Oh, I have another chapter to tell.’ But I think we’re coming to the end of the world, maybe. Stay tuned. He also added, “As far as I know, there’s no more incarnations of Heroes coming.”

For people who are sad to see end of the Heroes world, there is one more version coming, a video game called Gemini which will be available as a digital download for current consoles on Tuesday January 19. It serves to tell a side-story that takes place around the timeline of Heroes Reborn.

The synopsis for the season/series finale is under the jump.
