ABC PICKS UP “WIPEOUT” FOR A SEVENTH SEASON

The New Season Will Feature the First Ever “Tournament of Champions” Event

ABC has picked up “Wipeout" for a seventh season. Each episode will showcase twenty four daring contestants of all shapes and sizes as they compete in the world’s largest extreme obstacle course, but for the first time ever, winners will be brought together at the end of the season for a “Tournament of Champions,” during which they will compete for the title of Ultimate Wipeout Champion.

“We are always looking for ways to keep the show fresh and exciting. This year, we are amping up the competition with a season long tournament of champions, with the winner from each episode returning to compete against the other winners in an epic battle for the title of Wipeout Champion,” said Matt Kunitz, Creator and Executive Producer.

The new season will continue to bring lots of laughter, with new special themed episodes, including a chance to win a date with Jill Wagner, and the return of some of our favorites, like “Boss & Employee.” In the end, only one contestant will be victorious and win the title of Wipeout Champion, while everyone else will “wipeout!”

“Wipeout” is hosted by John Anderson (ESPN’s “SportsCenter”), John Henson (E! Entertainment’s “Talk Soup”) and co-hosted by Jill Wagner (MTV’s “Teen Wolf”).

“Wipeout” executive producers are Matt Kunitz (“101 Ways to Leave a Game Show,” “Fear Factor”), Scott Larsen, Trice Barto, J. Rupert Thompson, and Kevin Wehrenberg. The series is produced by Endemol USA.
