It’s a big night on IDOL. TWO, yes, TWO are going home thanks to last week’s judges’ “SAVE” of Michael Lynche. My IDOL senses tell me it’s Andrew Garcia and Aaron Kelly. Both had weak performances last night, but my senses have been off this season. Sigh. Speaking of performances, IDOL mentor and runner up Adam Lambert will be performing “Whataya Want From Me” tonight. This should be a good. Not an Adam fan, but I love this song. There is also a performances from former IDOL finalist Brooke White and former underwear model turned singer Justin Gaston. So much to do, so little time, so unless you want to know what happened, STOP READING NOW.
We have two performances tonight and two eliminations so you think they would eliminate the group song, but NOOOOOO. It’s a medley of badly performed, arranged and choreographed Elvis songs. PLEASE, IDOL PRODUCERS, STOP THE MADNESS!! Ugh.
And now it’s time for a Ford music video, this one about being green. When do the IDOLS sleep???
Eliminations begin…
Casey James, Aaron Kelly and Andrew Garcia are asked to go to the center of the stage. After a recap, Ryan reveals that Andrew is gone and Casey and Aaron are safe. So I’m right about one and wrong about the other. So who else is going? Hmmmm.
Next up… we see a very moving, but long, video showing what “Idol Gives Back” has accomplished in Africa with Kara DioGuardi and Elliot Yamin visiting an orphanage.
Now, a duet from Brooke White and Justin Gaston singing “If I Can Dream”. A mediocre performance and a boring song. It’s free on iTunes if you want, but I can’t imagine you would.
More eliminations… Lee DeWyze, Siobhan Magnus, Katie Stevens, Michael Lynche, Crystal Bowersox and Tim Urban are all called to center stage. Ryan recaps each performance. And then reveals… Crystal is safe. Siobhan is safe. Lee is safe. And now time for a commercial.
Adam Lambert is back to perform his new song, “Whataya Want From Me.” Love the song, but he drug out the opening and there is too much smoke on stage. You can’t even see Adam in the wide shot.
After the break, more eliminations… It’s Tim, Michael and Katie… Ryan sends one back to safety and that’s Tim Urban. So either Mike or Katie is going home. And he reveals…it’s Katie Stevens.
Next week… The IDOLS’ mentor is Alicia Keyes and the theme is inspirational songs to tie-in with the “Idol Gives Back” charity show. We’re getting down to the wire. Until next week…
