Jingle Ball is one of my favorite events of the year. For one reasonable price I get to see some of the year’s hot performers in one spot, in one night. The acts are on just long enough to get a taste of all the hits. I also appreciate that it’s a well run show with no downtime in between acts. This year’s Hot 99.5 Jingle Ball takes place at the Verizon Center, December 2016. The lineup includes Meghan Trainor, The Chainsmokers, G-Eazy, Fifth Harmony, Diplo, Ellie Goulding, DNCE, Alessia Cara, Tove Lo and Daya, plus a Special Guest appearance from Niall Horan. Capitol One Presale starts, Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 10am and general public on the 17th. Proceeds will be donated to the The Ryan Seacrest Foundation. Check out the Hot 99.5 website for more information.
Everyone here knows of my irrational love of Demi Lovato. I saw her 4 times last year (that I gasp, paid for) and had several opportunities to interview her but could never make it work. Gah! I’m proud of myself for talking to Wilmer at SDCC without asking about Demi (I’m a professional you know). Anyway, Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas have teamed up for their next national tour. The Future Now tour is coming to DC’s Verizon Center July 26th – jeeze, I can’t plan that far ahead. Tickets go on sale Sat. Nov 7th with pre-sale on Nov 3rd. Demi will be on Good Morning America, Thursday Oct 29, and the tonight show Oct 30th. The full court press to promote her new album Confident is in full swing.
Here’s a little known Michelle factoid. Back in the day I worked at two local record stores Kemp Mill and the Wiz during X-mas break. We played Mannheim Steamroller and Trans-Siberian Orchastra’s Christmas albums until me ears bled. So I’m strangely excited that they are bringing their Christmas rock opera The Ghosts of Christmas Eve to the Verizon Center on December 10th. It should be an amazing show. The show is presented by The Hallmark Channel. Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 18th.

After selling out her first show at DC’s Verizon Center, Ariana Grande’s – The Honey Moon Tour adds a second one to the mix. The new show will be Saturday, July 25th. Tickets went on sale Saturday, April 4th. As of now there are still plenty of seats left and surprisingly enough good seats are available at a “reasonable” price – under $120 for section 101 tickets. I’m almost tempted to purchase. I love me some Ariana.
New Kids On The Block are stepping into the ring for 2015. The pop phenoms stopped by Good Morning America this morning to announce THE MAIN EVENT, a summer headlining tour featuring very special guests, Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling artists TLC and Nelly. NKOTB surprised viewers with a special reveal of TLC and a personal message from Nelly (who is currently overseas with the armed forces). The groups hinted at possible collaborations and other exciting possibilities while on the road this summer, sending fans into a frenzy across social media. The tour, promoted by Live Nation, kicks-off on May 1 in Las Vegas, Nev. and will stop in over 30 cities across North America including Washington, D.C. on June 10 at Verizon Center.

The Who is kicking off their greatest hits tour next April in Tampa, Florida. They will hit the DC Area next November. NOVEMBER 2015. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 17th. OCTOBER 2014! Are they kidding me?
Have I said recently how much I loathe the idea of buying tickets this early? I have no idea where I’m going to be NEXT week, that alone 12 freaking months from now? I love The Who, but this is ridiculous. Official press release and tour information after the jump.
I’m new to Jingleballing. Went to my first show last X-Mas and it was a blast. I mean really, you get to see all the top touring acts in one place in a quick 3 hour span. I was skeptical at first and thought there would be a lot of dead spots, but Hot 99.5 and iHeartRadio did an amazing job of keeping things moving.
This year’s line up isn’t as good as last years, but hey it has Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer, Calvin Harris, Demi Lovato, OneRepublic, Iggy Azalea, Jason Derulo, Meghan Trainor, Lil Jon, Charli XCX, Jessie J, Kiesza, Rixton, Rita Ora and Shawn Mendes, with special guest host Nick Jonas. You all know how much I love me some Dems Lovats, but this will be my 3rd time seeing her in a year. Sign up on Hot99.5 website to get the code to get your pre-sale on. Press release after the jump.
