The annual Critics’ Choice Awards were given out last night and there were a number of surprises like no nomination for Tatiana Maslany this year, and awards for FX shows that come a bit later than maybe they should have, just for two.
It was a light year for broadcast TV once again – only three awards to network shows, but basic cable did better than okay with eight. Online productions nabbed as many awards as broadcast. Hmmmm…

If you’ve ever wondered what happens after the moguls on Shark Tank invest in someone’s idea, you’re about to find out. ABC has announced the creation of a companion series for Shark Tank called Beyond the Tank – to be produced by Sony Pictures Television and United Artists Media Group.
The idea behind the new series is to chronicle the opportunities and challenges that follow making a deal on Shark Tank – did everything go swimmingly, or were here problems? Did the idea make money – or did the investor drop out? Here is where we find out.
Beyond the Tank has been given a ten-episode order and will also air on ABC. For further details, follow the jump.
ABC announced the eight shows that will comprise the additions to its mid-season schedule – including one sitcom [Work It, four reality shows [Celebrity Wife Swap, Wipeout, Shark Tank and the next round of Dancing With the Stars] and three hour-long shows [The River, GCB and Missing].
