Marvel.com has just announced the signing of Robert Downey Jr. for two more Avengers movies – making his final line from the first Iron Man movie, ‘I am Iron Man,’ resonate for a few more years, and Avengers 2 and 3.
No details regarding the deal have been released but whatever they might be, it’s nice to know that the founding father of the ‘billionaire, genius, playboy, philanthropist’ club will suiting up at least twice more.
Marvel Studios continues to create ambitious, successful superhero movies with Iron Man 3 – the best of Tony Stark’s solo adventures to date. This time out, Stark is suffering post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of having his world upended in The Avengers – leaving him vulnerable both physically and emotionally.
While Iron Man 3 isn’t (quite) the movie that The Avengers was, it is an outstanding superhero movie that develops aspects of Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) in very human ways – thus anchoring the superhero exploits to a very relatable human being.
Ever since the events of Marvel’s The Avengers, Tony Stark has had trouble sleeping…
You know that scene in the Iron Man 3 trailer where the Mandarin blows Tony Stark’s oceanfront home to teensy-weensy bits? This might just be why he did that…
Check it out! Cool stuff, eh?
Seriously…? This whole teasing the trailer/TV spot thing is getting out of hand. Cool poster though.
Follow the jump for the teaser trailer.
Iron Man 3: bigger, louder… more personal?
In between the teaser-for-the-trailer and the actual trailer, Disney has released the teaser poster for Iron Man 3 – along with an official tagline and synopsis (which follow the jump). Check ‘em out!
Hey, folks! It’s another teaser-for-the-trailer teaser! This time, it’s for the teaser for Iron Man 3.
I guess the whole teaser-for-the-trailer thing is catching on. What do you think about that?
The Avengers is ridiculously entertaining. It’s pretty much a perfect summer movie.
The movie’s tone is perfect Marvel; the characters are completely true to their previous movies; the balance of wit, charm, intelligence, drama and poignancy is lovely, and both the tease for The Avengers 2 and the tag following the end credits are amazing. Even the 3D is effective – though it only really gets to shine in the last act.
