FX has ordered a third season of Baskets (Thursdays, 10/9C) – the Zach Galifiankis vehicle about Chip Baskets, a man who wants nothing more than to be a clown,even though he failed clown school because he couldn’t speak French.
The early third season order comes with three episodes left in season two – an episode entitled Funeral airs tonight.
Louis C.K, star of FX’s new half-hour, single comedy Louie [Tuesdays, 11/10C] is a stand up comic with a unique perspective – he’s a divorced/single father of two girls. These are elements that infuse his series, which is also punctuated by bits from his stand up act.
I had the opportunity to tale part in a teleconference Q&A session with him and found him to be thoughtful, conscientious and just really together.
Trust FX to come up with half-hour, single camera comedy that actually fits the style of stand up comic Louis C.K… Louie [Tuesdays, 11/10C], as has been noted in other areas, has a format that is reminiscent of Seinfeld – it generally opens and closes with bits from Louis’ stand up performances. That’s not entirely accurate though, because no episode of Louis follows the exact same format as any other – and yet it kinda does. Allow me to explain…
