The season finale of the acclaimed Italian crime series “Gomorrah” airs with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, September 28 at 10/9C. In “100 Ways to Kill,” all clans opposing or holding grudges against the Savastanos rally around Conte, forcing Genny to cut all ties. Imma’s intervention prevents an all-out war and reestablishes a fragile order.
In advance of the finale, Robert Saviano will post a sneak peek of the episode on his Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/RobertoSavianoFanpage/?fref=ts) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/robertosaviano).
“Gomorrah,” Italy’s most popular television series of all time, is based on the best-selling book by journalist Roberto Saviano. The novel has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and inspired the film Gomorrah, which won the 2008 Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. SundanceTV acquired seasons one and two from The Weinstein Company.
US critics are raving about the series, including Mary McNamara of Los Angeles Times who says, “‘Gomorrah’ shocks the system like a real Italian espresso after years of skinny vanilla lattes.”
Set in the suburbs of Naples, the series focuses on the inside story of the Camorra, the fierce Neapolitan crime organization, told through the eyes of Ciro Di Marzio (Marco D’Amore), the right hand of the clan’s godfather, Pietro Savastano (Fortunato Cerlino). Produced by Sky Atlantic, Cattleya and Fandango in association with La7 and Beta Film, “Gomorrah” is written by Stefano Bises and directed by Stefano Sollima, Francesca Comencini and Claudio Cupellini. The series was developed for television by Giovanni Bianconi, Stefano Bises, Leonardo Fasoli, Ludovica Rampoldi and Roberto Saviano.
