Queen: Days Of Our Lives is an excellent documentary that was put together for the “World’s Greatest Rock Band”. This special collection of Queen footage was directed by Matt O’Casey and produced by Simon Lupton and Rhys Thomas. The remaining band members of Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had asked Lupton and Thomas to put together a special 40th anniversary documentary to pay tribute to the band. After a year of researching past Queen video footage and editing, Queen: Days Of Our Lives was the final result.
The movie begins with an opening on Wembley Stadium from July 12, 1986 which was a huge concert event for Queen and was perfect for showing the extreme popularity and how much fans loved this band. After the opening Queen’s guitarist, Brian May begins to tell the story on how Queen began. He takes the viewer to a very small jazz club and goes into detail on how he met keyboardist Chris Smith there and how they both met iconic vocalist Freddie Mercury. The trio formed a jazz band but eventually Brian May and Freddie Mercury had set out to become legendary by forming the greatest rock band ever, known today as Queen.
Queen: Days Of Our Lives continues with showing past footage from interviews with Freddie Mercury, additional concert footage, footage from recording sessions, seven brand new videos including: We Are The Champions, Under Pressure, Somebody To Love, and Radio GaGa, and commentary from many people including:
Brian May
Roger Taylor-drummer for Queen

John Reid-Queen Manager 1975-1977
Roy Thomas Baker-producer
Paul Watts-EMI Records
Peter “Ratty” Hince-Queen roadie

To name a few. Queen: Days Of Our Lives is full of historic content for this iconic rock band and covers a majority of their career from the beginning to the tragic loss of Freddie Mercury in 1991. Queen: Days Of Our Lives is a perfect addition to any Queen fan and is a real pleasure to watch over and over. I appreciate the hard work and dedication Simon Lupton, Rhys Thomas, and Matt O’Casey put into this and thought this was well worth my time watching. With that said, I give Queen: Days Of Our lives an A+ all the way.
