Emmy®-Nominated Triumph the Insult Comic Dog to Return with New Hulu Original Special
Hulu and Funny Or Die Present “Triumph’s Summer Election Special 2016,” Set to Premiere on Hulu on August 11
SANTA MONICA, CA (July 26, 2016) – On the heels of its recent Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special, Triumph’s Election Special 2016, Hulu will debut a new, follow-up one-hour special hosted by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog titled Triumph’s Summer Election Special 2016. The new Hulu Original, in association with Funny Or Die, will become available to stream to Hulu subscribers on August 11.
In Triumph’s Summer Election Special 2016, Triumph makes his return to the Presidential campaign trail, covering delegates, protesters, and the major players as they descend on Cleveland and Philadelphia for the Republican and Democratic conventions, respectively. Triumph has already made headlines conducting a live show directly behind Wolf Blitzer’s panel and commandeering a Westboro Baptist Church demonstration.
“The world needs this desperately,” Triumph said from behind a female Corgi. “Nothing makes sense right now. A craven bully is a nominee. I’m talking, of course, about myself.”
Check out Triumph’s appearance last week at the Republican National Convention via Facebook Live.
In his previous Hulu special, Triumph took on the 2016 Presidential race in the heat of the primary election season – taking viewers from Iowa, to New Hampshire, to South Carolina in a tenacious news-gathering journey.
Triumph’s Summer Election Special 2016 comes to Hulu in an expanded partnership with Funny Or Die. The special is created and executive produced by Robert Smigel and executive produced by Funny Or Die’s Anna Wenger and Mike Farah; Conan O’Brien, and Sue Fellows.
The one-hour Hulu Original special joins Hulu’s growing slate of original programming, which includes drama series Shut Eye, Chance and The Handmaid’s Tale.
