CBS has given its stations (company owned and affiliates) in the Pacific and Mountain times zones the option of broadcasting the Grammy Awards live – making it possible that the awards will air live nationwide for the first time.
Should stations in these time zones choose to go live, the Grammys would air at 5pm (PT) and 6pm (MT) on Monday, February 5th. Follow the jump for more.
CBS OFFERING STATIONS IN THE PACIFIC AND MOUNTAIN TIME ZONES THE OPTION OF BROADCASTING “THE 58th ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS®” LIVE
For the first time, CBS will offer affiliates and owned stations in the Pacific and Mountain time zones the option of broadcasting the GRAMMY awards live on Monday, Feb. 15.
For participating stations in these regions, THE 58TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS, hosted by two-time GRAMMY Award winner LL COOL J, will be broadcast live from 5:00-8:30 PM, PT (6:00-9:30 PM, MT) on the CBS Television Network. Stations in the Pacific time zone that air the event live will also rebroadcast the entire GRAMMY awards telecast in primetime immediately following the live presentation.
The GRAMMY awards traditionally ranks as one of the year’s highest-rated broadcasts. Last year’s event averaged 24.8 million viewers and 8.3/23 in adults 18-49.
THE 58TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS airs live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday, Feb. 15 (8:00-11:30 PM, live ET).
