ABC’s Once Upon a Time will get a one-hour special, Once Upon a Time: Evil Reigns Once More, to bring viewers up-to-date on the show’s five season run leading into its sixth.
Evil Reigns will bring new viewers up to the minute while providing longtime fans with new insights as it explores the show from the point of view of the role that family – and never giving up – plays in the series.
Interviews with executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will look at what has gone before and what will be coming up – leading into the sixth season premiere.

ABC invites new and devoted “Once Upon a Time” viewers to take another look at this popular fantasy series in the new special “Once Upon a Time: Evil Reigns Once More,” which will explore the show in a way that will bring new viewers up to date – but which current viewers will also find illuminating – in anticipation of the exciting sixth season premiere. The special will take a look at the role that family plays in the show and never giving up on the ones you love, our heroes’ journey from breaking the curse to the ramifications of magic in our world, travelling to Neverland to save Henry from an evil Peter Pan, their battle with The Wicked Witch of the West upon their return, the presence of Elsa, the Ice Queen from Arendelle, in Storybrooke, the Savior becoming the Dark One and our heroes trip to the Underworld. As “Once Upon a Time” returns to ABC for its sixth season, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 (8:00–9:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network, so does its classic villain—the Evil Queen. Creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (“Lost,” “Tron: Legacy”) invite you to join everyone’s favorite fairytale characters as they face-off against this supercharged enemy.
In the season premiere episode, “The Savior,” as our heroes set out to stop Hyde, Emma develops a mysterious side effect, and Storybrooke becomes a haven for refugees from the Land of Untold Stories. Meanwhile, Regina and Zelena embrace their newfound sisterhood by becoming roommates, while Rumple tries to free Belle from the sleeping Curse with the help of a stranger. In flashback, Jafar confronts an afflicted Aladdin in Agrabah, and a secret about the Savior is revealed.

“Once Upon a Time” is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format with a 5.1 channel surround sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to the airdate.
