Adult Swim announced today the season three pickup of the original comedy animated series China, IL, where the teachers are crazy and the students just want to learn. More teacher-to-student shenanigans will ensue in season three on the network that just announced its most watched year to date for 2013. Production will begin later this year in Los Angeles.
The Adult Swim series centers around the crazy happenings at the University of China, IL, the worst college in America, led by Steve and Frank Smith, brothers who teach in the History Department, their TA Pony Merks, a lovable idiot named Baby Cakes, as well as a host of students and professors.
After expanding from its original 15-minute episodes to half hour episodes, Adult Swim’s original animated comedy series China, IL’s second season outperformed its premiere season by double digits across all key demos. Against cable network competition such as FX, MTV, SpikeTV and Comedy Central, season two of China, IL outperformed all key competitors in its 2013 timeframe by triple digits.
China, IL season two featured voice talent including show creator Brad Neely, Greta Gerwig, Hulk Hogan, Brooke Hogan, Jeffrey Tambor, Gary Anthony Williams, Chelsea Peretti, Hannibal Buress, Ryan Flynn, Dave Coulier, Michele Buteau, EG Daily, James Hong, Tommy Blacha, Robert Clotworthy, and Jason Walden.
