There is none in the school yard feared more than the bully, who taunts and hurls insults at those less fortunate in the recess pecking order. These menaces on the playgrounds/basketball courts/wherever around schools inspire fear in their fellow students. Despite their intimidation tactics, however, they can be more complicated individuals, and may actually be very afraid themselves.
