Last year, a group of imaginative Finns produced and released a remarkably dark and funny film called Iron Sky (Nazis on the moon!). It did well enough that they are looking to make a sequel – and have decided to go to crowdsourcing to raise the money for pre-production and production of a trailer (to be ready for Cannes 2015, with hopes of raising a production budget that have them shooting the movie in 2015).
Iron Sky was a success that was marred only slightly by the imaginative Finns having to make compromises in order to get their budget and distribution – something they hope to avoid through crowdsourcing. Did I mention they were imaginative? They also want to do the distribution themselves!
