Extract is one of those little films that I never got around to seeing – even though I wanted to, the Blu-ray version recently showed up on my doorstep. Director Mike Judge has put together quite a tapestry of characters in this small little movie. (Jason Bateman) is great as a factory owner who has to deal with his loveless marriage and his crazy staff of employees. Everyone has raved about Bateman’s performance in this, but the real find is how good Ben Affleck is as Dean’s best friend. The Blu-ray transfer is gorgeous and really highlights the film’s bright and cheerful colors. There’s a nice gloss to everything and the audio quality is very nice.

Comments
I liked the first 1/2 of this movie but everyone’s quirkiness starts to feel a bit forced and unrealistic and while the performances are good some of the acting comes across as amateurish. With that said this is a great cast. The bare bones nature of this Blu-ray release makes it a Rental.
