“”The Core”” doesn’t work on your small-screen TV, either!

“”The Core”” didn’t work too well on the big screen, even though it had select scenes that were tailor-made to exist on a giant, Multiplex cinema screen. The dialogue was trite, the logic was misleading, and the comedic turn by Aaron Eckhart went to waste. And you know what? Those problems still exist on the new “”Core”” DVD.

Even without the obvious comparison to “”Armageddon,”” it’s hard to get behind the relatively unoriginal “”Core.”” The plot begins when the core of our planet stops spinning on its axis. Very smart scientists who shuld’ve known better than to get involved with a project of this nature must accompany two astronauts (Bruce Greenwood, Hilary Swank) to the Earth
