The 28th annual WonderCon returns to Anaheim, CA this weekend

WonderCon returns to Anaheim , CA on April 18-20, 2014 at the Anaheim Convention Center. WonderCon aka “The Wonderful World of Comics” Convention was started by Bay Area comics retailer John Barrett in 1987 in Oakland, CA.

In 2002, Comic-Con International took over.  It was moved from Oakland to downtown San Francisco in 2003, then later Anaheim in 2012 due to construction in San Francisco.

Currently in its 28th year, WonderCon has panel discussions, comics publisher presentations, and movie and TV series events.  TV’s shows that are participating in WonderCon this year includes  “Revolution”, “The 100”,  “Falling Skies, “Legends”, “The Last Ship” and Carton Network fan favorites “Adventure Time”, “Regular Show”, Steven Universe”, Uncle Grandpa”, “Clarence”, and “Teen Titans Go!”.

Movies making an appearance this year includes “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, “How to Train Your Dragon 2,”, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”, and “Deliver Us From Evil”.  The world premiere of the new animated movie “Son of Batman” is on Friday, April 17 and the WonderCon Anaheim Masquerade returns for the 10th year in a row.  Fans can obtain autographs from their comic book heroes or play games for free during the convention.
