Amazon Prime Video has set a release date for The Tick: Season 1, Part 2.
Mighty Blue Justice will re-commence on February 23, 2018 with six new episodes.
SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON! (Temp battle cry!)
Amazon Prime Video will have a significant presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, led by The Tick and also featuring Danger & Eggs and Niko and the Sword of Light.
While all three shows will have panels, Amazon will provide a unique experience in The Tick Takeover – where fans can immerse themselves in the world of The Tick.
San Diego Comic-Con 2017 takes place at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, during the weekend of July 19 – July 23.
Beware, perfidious purveyors of injustice! The Bright Blue Beacon of Justice – The Tick – is here to take you down!
Or at least he will be on August 25th – on Amazon Video.
So check out the trailer to see just how trouble you’re in!
I did not see this coming – the announcement date for the premiere of Amazon’s The Tick is disturbingly… normal? (That was unexpected!)
During the summer, Amazon made three pilots available for its audience – I Love Dick, Jean-Claude Van Johnson and The Tick.
Today it announced that all three have been ordered to series for 2017 premieres.
“These pilots were vast in scope, disruptive in tone, challenging in story and sometimes even funny,” said Joe Lewis, Head of Half-Hour Series, Amazon Studios.
For full series descriptions, read on.
Comedy pilots, I Love Dick, Jean-Claude Van Johnson and The Tick are premiering on Amazon today.
I Love Dick comes from the creator of Transparent, Jill Solloway; Jean-Claude Van Johnson takes retired martial arts movie star Jean-Claude Van Damme into an intense new career as a ‘private Contractor,’ and The Tick revives the Big Blue Bug of Justice with the original comic’s creator Ben Edlund writing.
For further details, follow the jump.
Amazon’s The Tick, based on the classic Ben Edlund (who executive produces and writes) comics series, looks a bit different from the version that ran on FOX for all of seven episodes (yeah, I’m still ticked off about that…).
The new version of the deliverer of Mighty Blue Justice looks different – the new costume is weirdly textured – but the essentials are there.
Plus, Amazon has sent us a collection of photos that show us other denizens of The Tick’s superhero world – and Arthur definitely looks like an Arthur. Check out the photos after the break (click on thembnails to embiggen).
The Tick is one of three Amazon half-hour pilots that will drop on August 19th.
