NBC has handed out an early renewal to freshman series New Amsterdam. Details follow.
There’s a new, maverick boss at the country’s first and best public hospital – and he’s not making changes to make changes.
Nope. He’s a dewy-eyed idealist facing down the hordes of philistinea that keep his hospital from giving the absolute best patient care.
No matter what he does, Chris Lowell will probably always be best remembered for playing the good-hearted Piz on the Veronica Mars TV series – and reprising the role in the Veronica Mars movie. Which would be simultaneously cool (it’s a great series and terrific movie) and a shame – his first film as a director, Beside Still Waters, won both the Jury and Audience Prizes at the 2013 Austin Film Festival.
Beside Still Waters stars Ryan Eggold (The Blacklist), Reid Scott (Veep), Beck Bennett (SNL), Brett Dalton (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Will Brill (Not Fade Away), Erin Darke (Kill Your Darlings), Jessy Hodges (Hindsight) and Britt Lower (Unforgettable). It opens in theaters on November 14th and premieres on VOD on November 18th. Check out the trailer after the jump.
Chris Lowell may be best known as sweet, lovable Pib from Veronica Mars, but he has won both the Jury Prize and audience Award for his first film as director, Beside Still Waters, at the Austin Film Festival.
Beside Still Waters – about Daniel Thatcher (Ryan Eggold, The Blacklist)), a young romantic who has recently fallen on hard times, who enlists his childhood friends to relive the glory days of their youth, whether they like it or not – will be released theatrically on November 14th and digitally on November 18th, by Tribeca Film.
