Sherlock2010_S1_BLUSherlock2010_S1_DVD

Sherlock Holmes is the best known detective in the world. His use of deduction and evidence was almost contemporary – and certainly far ahead of its time. So, the question arises – how great a detective would Holmes be now, in this age of amazing forensic science? See for yourself when Season One of the BBC series Sherlock comes to DVD and Blu-ray.

More following the jump.

Steven Moffatt, best known for his work on Doctor Who [where he is the current showrunner/head writer] and Mark Gatiss [Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Doctor Who] took this idea and ran with it. The result is the brilliant series, Sherlock – starring Martin Freeman as Dr. John H. Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch as The Great Detective – and also starring Rupert Graves as Holmes’ Scotland Yard foil, Inspector Lestrade.

Now the first six-episode season is coming to DVD and Blu-ray.

Today the BBC and distributor Warner Home Video announced that Sherlock – Season 1 will hit the streets on November 9th!
Priced at $34.98 SRP for the DVD edition, and $39.98 SRP for the high-def Blu-ray Disc, both versions will be a 2-disc set with the Pilot Episode, Audio Commentaries, and a Making-Of Featurette included among the extras.
