Road To New York Day 6: Boom! Studios Announces Talent, Signing Schedule and Panels!

BOOM! Studios has an ambitious schedule planned for New York Comic-Con 2016 – 32 signings – including Mouse Guard’s creator, David Petersen (above) and 5 panels – ranging from Queer Representation in All-Ages and Youth Media to Celebrate the Publishing World of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth with Archaia.

BOOM! Studios Announces Talent, Signing Schedule, and Panels for New York Comic Con

BOOM! Studios is pleased to announce its talent lineup and signing schedule for New York Comic Con, taking place October 6-9, 2016 at the Javits Center in New York City.

All appearances will take place at the publisher’s large 20 foot by 50 foot booth, number 1828. All weekend long at the booth, fans can find the writing duo of Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly (Joyride, Hacktivist), current Lumberjanes co-writer Kat Leyh, writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson (Warlords of Appalachia, Last Sons of America), and artist Laura Howell (Regular Show), who will also be available to draw customized sketches on blank comic covers.

Mouse Guard creator David Petersen, Michael Dialynas (The Woods), Frank Cho (Skybourne), Dennis Hopeless (WWE), Mike Perkins (Rowans Ruin), James Asmus (Kong of Skull Island), and Greg Pak (Big Trouble in Little China/Escape from New York) will all stop by the BOOM! booth to meet fans.

From overseas, Eisner Award winner Asaf Hanuka will be on hand to sign copies of his collection of autobiographical comic strips, The Realist; acclaimed noir writer Matz will appear to support his recent Archaia graphic novel, The Black Dahlia; Simon Spurrier comes from the UK to promote Weavers and The Spire; and Alex Paknadel appears at the BOOM! booth for the first time to sign copies of Turncoat and Arcadia.

Justin Jordan and Raúl Treviño will appear together for their current BOOM! comic series, Sombra; the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink team of current writer Tini Howard, artist Daniel Di Nicuolo, and colorist Sarah Stern will make two appearances. For the main Power Rangers series, colorist Matt Herms will be on hand; Rod Reis and Jorge Corona, who both contributed stories to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Annual, will also be available to sign copies of the New York Comic Con exclusive.

Jim Campbell and Cara McGee, who work on the current KaBOOM! ongoing series based on Cartoon Network’s Over the Garden Wall, are coming to greet fans, as well as Jonesy artist Caitlin Rose Boyle, Jim Henson’s Labyrinth Tales writer/artist Cory Godbey, Rust creator Royden Lepp, and Natacha Bustos, who will join Kat Leyh to sign copies of the Lumberjanes #29 New York Comic Con exclusive.
