Record A Song contest for Linkin Park’s NEW album

Hello readers of Eclipse Magazine and musicians out there,
this news is directly coming from Myspace Music News but the band Linkin Park is giving ANY musician the chance to play on their new album. Feel free to check out the details here:

The band (Linkin Park) is giving you, the fans, the chance to actually help shape a song on their upcoming album, A Thousand Suns, which will hit shelves on September 14.  We’re proud to be teaming up with Linkin Park for “Linkin Park Featuring You,” a one-of-a-kind opportunity that allows you the chance to produce your own song for the band.
Beginning tomorrow, July 9, you can go to Linkin Park’s MySpace page to download audio stems from “The Catalyst,” the first single from the band’s new album, which will hit radio on August 2. Then it’s on you to show off your skills. Adjust the stems, record and produce your own additional tracks.Feel free to use your own music production software to create your song and then upload it to Linkin Park’s MySpace page.
Once each new version is submitted, the track will be shared in an embeddable player, which anyone can access to rate and comment, as well as click through to record their own tracks. A winner will be chosen by Linkin Park, and the lucky musician’s submission will either be included on the band’s new album or the winner will be invited to perform with the band on a song on the upcoming record. The group’s new album will be co-produced by Rick Rubin and the band’s lead singer Mike Shinoda. And maybe, if you show off your best skills, you can add your name to the credits.

I for one think this is a GREAT idea by Linkin Park and wish any participating musician the best and good luck. I enjoyed LP’s last album “Minutes To Midnight” and am interested in how their new album “A Thousand Suns”  is going to sound.
