Pitbull Doing Good In The Community – Surprises Students

Earlier this week, international superstar Pitbull gave students the thrill of a lifetime as he stopped by the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Sports Leadership and Management Academy of Nevada charter school.

Following the opening festivities, “Mr. Worldwide” dropped his mic in favor of a whistle as he took over as lead gym class teacher for a spirited game of hoops with the kids.  Joining Pitbull for the surprise was the winner of MTV’s “Ultimate Fan Experience” presented by Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar®.  MTV’s “Ultimate Fan Experience” not only connects die-hard fans to the artists they love, but also gives them the opportunity to give back alongside their favorite artist for a cause that they are passionate about.  From music education in high schools, to making art with kids, “Ultimate Fan Experience” rewards fans and makes lasting contributions to local communities along the way.  To cap off the day of doing good, Pitbull rewarded his “Ultimate Fan” with VIP tickets to his concert later that evening.

“MTV’s Ultimate Fan Experience was a great opportunity to share my passion for education,” said Armando Christian Perez (Pitbull). “I thank Michelle for joining me in opening the new SLAM! charter school in Nevada and helping us to raise awareness about the importance of establishing high-quality learning environments for students from all around the world.”

Initially inspired by one of his high school teachers, Pitbull knows that education can make a difference in life. Committed to cultivating success among the next generation, he serves as an ambassador for SLAM!, Sports Leadership and Management charter schools. Launched in the Little Havana section of Miami where he spent some of his youth, the SLAM! model has now expanded to West Palm Beach, Florida and Las Vegas.

MTV piloted the “Ultimate Fan Experience” campaign last year where it quickly became a hit with fans and artists alike. Artists who have participated include Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran, Britney Spears, Austin Mahone, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas and more.
