LOS ANGELES, Calif. – August 26, 2015 – Pocket Aces Productions will release the first-of-its-kind fantasy football documentary, “Fandom,” on August 28, 2015. The feature-length film, narrated by Hollywood icon Christian Slater, will be marketed and sold direct-to-consumers at FandomTheFilm.com, on iTunes, and via other digital platforms worldwide.
“Fandom” explores the tremendous growth and power of the fantasy football phenomenon through the lives of players, fans, celebrities, pro athletes, and fantasy experts.
“More than 35 million of us play fantasy football, but nobody has really told our story,” said Andrew Aronow, the filmmaker behind “Fandom” and Founder of Pocket Aces Productions, who has been playing fantasy football for more than 10 years. “I wanted to give all my fellow players the ultimate perspective on fantasy football, from ordinary leagues to high-stakes tournaments, from fantasy experts to professional football players, from draft rooms to board rooms.”
“Fandom” features current and former professional football players, including Marshall Faulk (Hall of Famer), Chris Doleman (Hall of Famer), Tiki Barber (former running back), and Emmanuel Sanders (wide receiver). Many of the fantasy football industry’s top experts, executives, and broadcasters also appear in the film. Additionally, celebrities such as Kendra Wilkinson (Playboy’s “The Girls Next Door”) have cameos and share their passion for fantasy football.
