Well, I’ve finally seen The Interview and, let me just tell you, it’s a pretty decent little comedy. Cause for international furor? Not really. More like a modern Rat Pack kind of thing where a bunch of guys get together and make a movie for the hell of it.

Unbroken – Great Story; Prosaic Movie!
The story of Louis Zamperini – from kid on the wrong path to Olympic athlete to surviving forty-seven days adrift in the Pacific Ocean to Japanese POW (and recipient of far worse than merely tortuous treatment – is one so improbable that it comfortably fits every possible definition of both heroism and ‘you can’t make […]
The Gambler Jams Out!
The Gambler is a remake of the 1974 classic about a man with an addiction to gambling – to the point of endangering his life. In this version, a university professor gets in deep with three very deadly members of the gambling underworld. This version has a unique take on character that, just barely, allows […]
Into The Woods – What Comes After Happily Ever After?
Into The Woods takes four classic fairy tales – Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel – and looks at what happens after their happily ever after endings. There have been several films in recent memory that have tackled this idea, but when Into The Woods debuted, it was a radical […]
Wild – A Wild Physical and Metaphysical Journey!
Wild is director Jean-Marc Vallee’s follow-up to Dallas Buyers’ Club and it is as powerful and rewarding an experience.

Annie is a reimagining of the Broadway musical-turned-movie based on the classic comic strip Little Orphan Annie. In the comic strip and musical, the wealthy man was billionaire Daddy Warbucks […]
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies – And Now For The Big Finish!
After a tonally confused beginning and terrific middle episode filled with all kinds of invention, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies brings Peter Jackson’s six-movie Tolkien binge to close with a rousing mid-point finale that both wraps up the story and sets the stage for the Lord of the Rings trilogy quite nicely.
Top Five: Chris Rock Rocks It!
Chris Rock has been in a host of movies – some good, some not so much – but first time, he’s made a film that feels true to the person we’ve come to know from his stand up. Top Five is loud and rude and angry – but it’s also thoughtful, thought-provoking and tender.
Exodus: Gods + Kings = Boring!
As Moses, Christian Bale is no Charlton Heston – and as good a filmmaker as he is, Ridley Scott is no Cecil B. DeMille.
Michelle says Birdman Starts Strong but Stumbles Across The Finish Line
In many ways Birdman is a case of a great film that cannot sustain it’s greatness for more than 60 minutes. It eventually fails to live up to the amazing cast and the quirky tone that it sets up. The question is can I overlook the awfulness of the last 30 minutes?
Michelle Finally Reviews Intersteller and thinks its a Mess!
Christopher Nolan what am I going to do with you? Your movies are always big on ideas and concepts but somehow manage to fall apart in the 3rd act – usually when it calls for you to direct an action scene. I’m almost always glad I went on the journey but ultimately disappointed when I […]
