Take Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman’s Watson and stick them back in the 19th Century and what do you get? Ghosts, by Jove! Ghosts!
The new trailer for The Sherlock Special is dark and creepy and very, very Victorian. It features Holmes in the famous deerstalker (that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle never once mentioned) and Watson with a handlebar mustache – confronted by a seemingly spectral puzzle.
Check it out after the jump. The Sherlock Special will air on PBS’ Masterpiece Classic sometime in the near future. There will also be a special theatrical event release – again, with no specific date set.
