After Gossip Girl’s massive improvement between episode 1 and 2 of their 3rd season, I’m holding out hope that 90210 will turn itself around this week and have at least a passable show. I’m not sure if it’s possible since they have made everyone on this show completely unlikable. I’m an eternal optimist. On to the re-cap.

The show opens with Harry (Rob Estes) yelling at Dixon (Tristan Wilds) for hitting a guy for no reason. Dixon then tells Harry about Annie’s (Shenae Grimes) Sext. How can Harry not already know about the sext message??? Annie runs into Teddy (Trevor Donovan) who says he recognizes her from somewhere. Annie is still dealing with the fallout from the Sext. Annie confronts Naomi and her fellow mean girls ignore her. I realize I bailed on the last 3 or 4 episodes of last year, but can someone tell me when did Silver turn her back on Annie? Adrianna and Navid (Michael Steger) make up. Silver tries to make up with Annie. Wow all of this before the opening credits – this is where I say how much I hate the remake of the original 90210 theme.
Man is Dixon a jerk this season he complains about Silver to Navid and says he’s going to search for the female version of himself. Annie is forced to have "the talk," with her parents. Harry and Debbie have a fight over how to parent Annie. Dixon meets his dream girl. I find it annoying that the CW does nothing to promote Supernatural or Smallville on their airwaves. If I see one more commercial for The Vampire Diaries I’ll pull an Elvis. Why the heck is a Vampire trying out for a High School football Harry and Kelly share a moment and in a cute moment she mentions how she was crazy when she was in High-School. Ah, the memories. Annie shows up at Teddy’s party.
Dixon is trapped on the boat with his dream girl and has to come up with a cover story for being there and needs to keep Silver away from her. She thinks Dixon is a music industry guy who drives a Lamborghini. Annie gets back at Naomi by first proving she lied to Silver about sending the Sext, then digs the knife in deeper by rubbing her nose in the fact that she slept with Liam. I actually like seeing Annie finally fighting back, her whining much longer. Silver is disgusted by Annie’s attack on Naomi. Navid and Teddy share a moment where he admits he hates Teddy. Teddy says he took the fall for his roommate and wins Navid over. There’s going to be something dark with this guy, mark my words. I guarantee you he’s going to end up being the one responsible for running over the guy. And not two minutes later he’s put the moves on Adrianna. I’m getting tired of Silver’s constant whining as well turns out she had a Tattoo with Dixon’s name. The episode ends with Liam building something, Dixon borrowing Navid’s car again, heading towards Napa – this can’t end well, and an affair between Harry and Kelly being teased. Really? Do we really need to see Kelly go for a married man?

I liked this episode, a lot it gelled a lot better, the characters were a little more balanced – not as much whining this week, and it the pacing was better than the last two. Although these are still a universe of despicable people, I could at least appreciate their motivations more this episode. It did enough to at least keep me interested for a few more weeks.
