While everyone is talking about Arsenio Hall’s return to the talk show biz – and while the chatter about the shift from Leno to Fallon carries on – there’s a guy named W. Kamau Bell, who’s quietly become one of the best talk show hosts in the country. His nightly show, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, has a knack for getting unexpected guests and he has a knack for conversing with them – which makes him a direct successor to the great Tom Snyder – and he’s having fun in the process.
Because Totally Biased is on FX’s start-up FXX, Bell can – and does – go to interesting places on a nightly basis. Last night he talked about a couple young men of color who thwarted a kidnapping in Texas; featured an encounter between an Indian-American comic and the world of Steampunk, and interviewed Orange is the New Black’s Laverne Cox, the first transgender person of color to win a featured role on a TV series. In short, Bell eats controversial for breakfast (or at least a bedtime snack!).Check out the clips after the jump and see what I mean. Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell airs nightly at 11/10C.

The network’s launch week will feature season premieres of comedy hits It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League – as well as the new season of the critically acclaimed late night talk show Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.
The network will also being featuring a numbered of acquired series of extremely high quality – like Arrested Development, How I Met Your Mother, Freaks and Geeks, Rescue Me and Sports Night (for my money, still the best TV series Aaron Sorkin has ever done!). While the FXX launch is built around original and acquired comedy series and movies, it will expand to include original drama series.
Thanks to distribution deals with every major distributer in America, FXX will launch in 72 million homes. Follow the jump for the press release, which includes premiere dates and a link to a website generated specifically to show viewers where the network will appear on their system.

Because he has guests like the loopy musical genius Reggie Watts (above) and sports/progressive politics writer Dave Zirin (following the jump) – and because the show (FX, Thursdays, 11/10C) never talks down to its audience.
Check out these clips.

Two of the most entertaining late night TV shows around are the decidedly NSFW Brand X with Russell Brand (FX, Thursdays 11/10C) and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell (FX, Thursdays, 11:30/10:30C). These two shows are built around intelligent, wickedly funny performers and, if you’re not easily outraged, well worth checking out.
Following the jump are clips from each show – again, these are definitely NSFW! If they make you laugh, check out the shows. Enjoy!
