xXx Returns to Home Video with 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray!

With xXx: Return of Xander Cage due in theaters on January 20th, Sony Pictures Home Video is releasing xXx on Blu-ray in the xXx: 15th Anniversary Edition – which brings the features from the original DVD release to Blu-ray for the first time, and includes a new featurette: Origins of a Renegade – which features Vin Diesel with a look at the new movie.

The Blacklist: The Complete Third Season Comes to Home Video!

The third season of The Blacklist is coming to home video (Blu-ray, DVD) on August 2nd.

Besides the death of Elizabeth Keen arc, the home video releases are notable for the uneven distribution of bonus material – only the Blu-ray gets episode commentaries, deleted and extended scenes and a pair of featurettes on the season’s stunts and villains.

Those of us still stuck in home video’s Bronze Age will have to settle for Outside the Box: Making The Blacklist Comic Book; All About Aram, and Red’s Gems: Favorite Lines from Season 3.

DVD Review: Electra Woman & Dyna Girl Reworks Hokey ‘60s Show To Good Effect!

Sid & Marty Krofft’s Electra Woman & Dyna Girl was a blatant knock-off of Batman – but with two cute girls in spandex rather than a pot-bellied guy and a twenty-one year old high school student. Trust me. I noticed.

So I was more than a little surprised to see an Electra Woman & Dyna Girl web series starring online darlings Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart. I was even more surprised to find that it took almost all of the original show’s ideas (the wrist weapons, the Electra Car, Frank and the Crimescope) and updated them into a remarkably clever new take.

Ghostbusters I & II Get 4K Ultra HD Release In June!

Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II are getting the 4K Ultra HD treatment from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment complete with Dolby Atmos soundtracks.

Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II 4K Ultra HD will be released on June 7th as part of the celebration for the release of the new Ghostbuster film that opens on June 15. Sony is also releasing over fifty episodes of The Real Ghostbusters animated series, in five volumes, on June 7th. Follow the jump for details.
