Now that Fortitude is no longer the safest place on Earth, some interesting people are coming to visit.
Pivot’s Arctic thriller series has begun shooting season two with some new cast members: Dennis Quaid (The Art of More), Parminder Nagra (The Blacklist), Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones, 24: A New Day), Robert Sheehan (Misfits, The Mortal Instruments: City of bones) and Ken Stott (The Missing).

Fortitude, the first original scripted series from cable network Pivot, has been given a premiere date.
The dark drama series, about a murder in the idyllic Arctic town of Fortitude – formerly the safest place on Earth – will have a two-hour premiere on Thursday, January 29th (10/9C). For more, follow the jump.
America Ferrera has signed on to host Panoramica, Pivot and Univision News’ new series of eight documentaries of interest to an Hispanic audience. Ferrera will introduce each documentary and provide context for each in terms of the issues they explore.
Marmato, which chronicles the struggle of a small Columbian mining town as a powerful Canadian company attempts to wrest control of the gold that lies beneath their homes, will air on Saturday, August 23rd on UCI’s UniMás and simulcast on Pivot. For more, follow the jump.
Pivot might be a new network, but they’ve made a big splash, obtaining the rights to televise the Peabody Awards through 2016. One of the most prestigious prizes in electronic media, The University of Georgia’s George Foster Peabody Awards highlight excellence in TV, radio and online – awarding ‘storytelling that matters.’ Pivot will be the exclusive home for the annual event, producing original primetime specials spotlighting the Peabody Award winners as chosen by the Peabody adjudication board.
This year, the honorees will be announced April 2nd and the famous medallions will be presented on May 19th. The 2014 Peabody Awards special ‘will blend highlights from the presentation ceremony with exclusive interviews with featured award recipients’ for an airdate yet to be determined. Participant Media’s TV network Pivot has acquired the complete runs of cult favorite series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Veronica Mars. The critically acclaimed shows will be scheduled back to back in a weeknight strip as the Buffy and Veronica Power Hours block with Buffy running at 10/9C and Veronica Mars at 11/10C, beginning January 13th.
