Man, I wish I still lived in LA and not this backwaters hole in Florida. It’s a nice backwaters hole, but nothing exciting happens in Jacksonville. Can I put a sad face emoji in a news article? Is that professional?
MTV Movie and TV Awards has announced their performance line up and I’ll admit I don’t know who most of these people are, but I love Macklemore and would consider flying out to LA just to get a chance to meet and talk to him. Not to mention the Red Carpet will probably be insane. Even though I can’t be there, unless MTV pays for me (like that will happen), I plan on having someone out there repping the EM machine. Hosted by “Shazam!” star Zachary Levi, the MTV Movie & TV Awards air Monday, June 17 at 9:00 PM ET/PT. Full press release below.
As if the MTV Movie Awards isn’t insane enough the format is changing this year to include TV. Is this a sign that MTV has realized that TV has become just as good as film or did they have trouble coming up with movies worth honoring this year? Regardless of the reason, I fully support giving television its due! The show airs May 7 in LA. Who knows, you may see me out there.
After 25 years, MTV today announced it is flipping the script with the newly reimagined “MTV Movie & TV Awards,” the ultimate celebration of young Hollywood’s best WTF to WOW performances across film and TV. The expanded show will air LIVE from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, Calif. on Sunday, May 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Host, nominations, performers and presenters will be announced at a later date. Hmmm…. I may have to fly out to La La Land for this.
MTV’s Teen Wolf final mid season finale airs tonight! Check out these clips and images. What does the mid-season finale of “Teen Wolf” have in store? In episode 610, “Riders on the Storm,” the fate of Beacon Hills is hanging in the balance as Scott and his pack face off against Douglas in their final showdown.
Earlier this week, international superstar Pitbull gave students the thrill of a lifetime as he stopped by the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Sports Leadership and Management Academy of Nevada charter school.
The 2016 “MTV Fandom Awards” hosted by “Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey will honor the fans whose tenacious excitement pushes movies, TV, music, theater and video games from subculture to mainstream worldwide success. In just over 24 hours, on Thursday, July 21, all Comic-Con badge holders are welcome to join the “MTV Fandom Fest” party at Petco Park, featuring food, drinks, games and giveaways beginning at 6:30 p.m. PT and leading into the 8:00 p.m. PT taping of the show. The awards show will air on Sunday, July 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
MTV’s 3rd annual Fandom Awards are set to take place next week in Petco Park. It’ll probably be one of the highlights of SDCC. Through an exclusive partnership with Tumblr, votes for “Ship of the Year,” will be cast solely on Tumblr. MTV will launch a unique post for each of the nominees on the MTV Tumblr page, with the winner determined by the post with the largest vote count. Whoever designed and approved this awful logo should be fired.
This year’s nominees include: “Olicity” (Oliver + Felicity, “Arrow”), “Stucky” (Steve + Bucky, Captain America: Civil War), “Stormpilot” (Finn + Poe, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens ), “Stydia” (Stiles + Lydia, “Teen Wolf”), “Clexa” (Clarke + Lexa, “The 100”), “Westallen” (Iris West + Barry Allen, “The Flash”) and “Malec” (Magnus Bane + Alec Lightwood, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments).
My vote is last year’s Clexa – not this year because they ruined it – before the death we shall not name. The death just put an exclamation point on that cluster f that was this season. Maybe I’ll go with Stydia, I do love me some Stiles, but they haven’t been a thing in awhile. Is it sad that I watch all of these shows and know who the ships are? I’m a fan at Comic-Con, come on!
I’ve stayed off of Social Media the last few days because I find myself getting more and more disgusted with it. MTV News and BET should be applauded for trying to elevate the conversation. Last night the two networks teamed up to have a conversation about Race relations in America. You can watch highlights here and if you want to find resources on doing more, check out MTV/BET’s new community website here.
