Dark Horse Books has announced the publication of Hellboy: 25 Years of Covers – a collection of over 150 covers from the publisher’s run of Hellboy comics – on July 19th.

Hellboy: 25 Years of Covers feature a preface from Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and an introduction by colorist Dave Stewart – as well as cover art by Richard Corben, Duncan Fegredo and more.

DARK HORSE ANNOUNCES HELLBOY DAY 2019!

On Saturday March 23, 2019, Dark Horse Comics will celebrate the 25th anniversary of legendary comic book creator Mike Mignola’s most famous creation with Hellboy Day.

For 2019’s Hellboy Day, Dark Horse will publish a 25th anniversary, edition of Hellboy: Seed of Destruction #1, with a new cover by Mignola and colorist Dave Stewart – which will be given away at participating comic book shops; and select stores across the country will host Hellboy Day events.

Dark Horse Publishing The Hellboy Omnibus Collection!

Dark Horse Books will be undertaking the task of publishing Hellboy’s complete story – collected in chronological order for the first time – beginning with the first Hellboy series, Seed of Destruction.

There will be four volumes of Hellboy Omnibus and two volumes of Hellboy: The Complete Short Stories. Each volume will feature new covers by Mike Mignola and Dave Stewart.

Hellboy Omnibus Volume 1: Seed of Destruction will be in comics shops on May 23, 2018 and bookstores on June 5, 2018. Pre-orders are now being taken for Hellboy Omnibus Volume 1: Seed of Destruction and Hellboy: The Complete Short Stories Volume 1.

In advance of San Diego Comic-Con 2017, Dark is announcing that, this winter, the Mignolaverse – Hellboy & the B.P.R.D., B.P.R.D., Abe Sapien, Lobster Johnson and Witchfinder – is getting darker as Hellboy takes on Christmas demon Krampus in a new one-shot teaming Mignola with Adam Hughes, Hellboy: Krampusnacht; Rasputin teams up with the most twisted Nazis in a five-issue limited series, Rasputin: Voice of the Dragon, and Koshchei the Deathless ponders his road to immortality – via Hell – in the six-issue limited series Koshchei the Deathless.

Shades of The Hammer Dracula Flicks: Mr. Higgins Comes Home!

Dark Horse Comics will be bringing back the flavor of the classic Hammer Dracula flicks in October when the company publishes Mr. Higgins Comes Home – a graphic novel from Hellboy’s Mike Mignola and Helena Crash artist Warwick Johnson-Cadwell.

In Mr. Higgins Comes Home, preparations begin at Castle Golga for the annual festival of the undead, as a pair of fearless vampire killers question a man hidden away in a monastery on the Baltic Sea. The mysterious Mr. Higgins wants nothing more than to avoid the scene of his wife’s death, and the truth about what happened to him in that castle. However, these heroic men, sworn to rid the world of the vampire scourge, inspire Higgins to venture out and to end the only suffering he really cares about–his own.

Mr. Higgins comes home will be in Comics stores on October 25th and bookstores on October 31st.

New Hellboy Graphic Novel Coming in 2017!

Dark Horse Comics has announced an original Hellboy graphic novel – Hellboy: Into the Silent Sea – will be released in 2017.

Into the Silent Sea follows the events of the classic Hellboy story The Island and finds Hellboy setting sail from ‘the wreckage of a deserted island’ and encountering a ghost ship.

Hellboy: In the Silent Sea will be co-written by series creator and Mike Mignola and the graphic novel’s illustrator, Gary Gianni and colored by Dave Stewart. Pre-orders are being taken now. Follow the jump for details – and some preview art.

Sir Edward Grey Is Back in Witchfinder: City of the Dead!

Dark Horse will publish Witchfinder: City of the Dead – a five-isse series by the creator of Hellboy, Mike Mignola; the co-creator of iZombie, Chris Roberson; original Witchfinder artist Ben Stenbeck and original Witchfinder colorist, Michelle Madsen.

In this five part miniseries from Dark Horse Comics, Sir Edward Grey, occult adviser to the queen, must defeat scores of flesh-eating corpses on the loose in London.

Dark Horse Unveils Comic-Con 2014 Plans!

With less than a week to go, Dark Horse has released its schedule of events – panels (more than a dozen) and signings (more than 50!) – for Comic-Con 2014. Who says Comic-Con isn’t about comics anymore?

Sure there are the TV and movie-related panels (The Strain and A Dame To Kill for, for example), but there plenty for the comics fan – if you’re curious about the business, there are panels on How to Break Into the Business and Stay In (4pm, Thursday, Room 30CDE), or if you have a genre favorite, there’s Drawing on Your Nightmares: Modern Horror in Comics (1pm, Thursday, Room 23ABC). Hellboy fan? Spotlight on Mike Mignola (Friday, 12:30 pm, Room 23ABC). Emily Strange? How about The Emily the Strange Panel (10am, Sunday, Room 32AB). And that’s just a taste.
