Mission: Impossible – Fallout – HALO Jump Stunt Behind The Scenes!

It’s official – Tom Cruise is a crazy person!

Only a crazy person would jump from a plane at 25,000 feet and open their parachute at 2,000 feet FOR A MOVIE! (Not to mention whoever it is that’s operating the camera has to be equally nuts!)

Mission: Impossible – Fallout opens on July 27th.

First Look Photos: Sand Castle!

Netflix’s Sand Castle examines the real cost of war as it follows a group of American soldiers in the early days of the second Gulf War. Bearing witness to the heat and the horror is the inexperienced Private Matt Ocre (Nicholas Hoult), who together with several fellow soldiers is ordered to the outskirts of Baqubah to repair a water pumping station damaged by U.S. bombs. But as Ocre discovers, in an atmosphere where resentment and anger fester, trying to win the hearts and minds of the locals is a task fraught with danger.

Netflix has released a handful of photos from the production. The four remaining follow the break – double click to embiggen. Sand Castle’s premiere date is TBD.

Batman v Superman Is Surprisingly OK!

The first trailer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was ponderous, portentous and pretentious. It really worried me. Then the succeeding trailers told us that we were getting Lex Luthor and Doomsday in the same movie – on top of adding the introduction of Wonder Woman. That seemed like an awful lot of apples to put in one basket – but there’s actually more than that in the movie.

Surprisingly, it’s pretty good.

Man of Steel: Cool New Variations on a Well-Traveled Theme!

Superman - Clay Enos

Man of Steel is to movie adaptations of DC Comics characters what Iron Man and Iron Man 3 are to movie adaptations of Marvel’s superheroes. It cuts through the multiple iterations of Superman origin stories from 75 years of the character, takes the best bits, filters them through the filters of story writers Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer and then zaps them with the energy and vision of director Zack Snyder. It is best Superman movie since Superman II – and easily on a par with that film.
