Primal Scream: Screamadelica Live is an amazing cd/dvd. After watching the twenty year old video footage, I saw Primal Scream’s ability to inspire and how the footage was able to perfectly capture their energy on stage. There is not one moment I didn’t enjoy. I thought it was great that their songs were separated into two different sections: “Screamadelica” and “Rock Set”. Both sets are full of energy, have a different musical feel, and have their share of fast paced rock songs and slower paced ballads. One thing that stood out to me during the “Screamadelica” set was that Primal Scream used a gospel choir for their songs and that helped to add another level of musical creativity.
Primal Scream: Screamadelica Live is incredible to watch and is full of passion. I’m personally new to their music and have not heard of this 80’s band until now but enjoyed everything I heard. If you’re into 80’s/90’s alternative British Rock, you will not be disappointed. This cd/dvd covers several different genres from rock to gospel to pop. Eagle Rock Entertainment did an amazing job is putting together the video footage and the cd/dvd set.
