Am I the only one who absolutely despises Real Media player? I’ve never really liked it, but now I have almost seething hatred for it.
The interface is clunky as hell, and they constantly bombard you with annoying pop up adds, and prompts to buy their goddamn subscription service, and they won’t leave you alone.
No matter what version you have it’s ALWAYS an obsolete version – this is done to try and trick people into purchasing the damn “Gold Super Pass”.
And if you want to get the free player, it’s “hidden” beneath all the prompts to buy this crappy software, along with their subscription plan. Don’t even get me started on the poor quality of the streaming video and it’s crummy codecs.
These are the same people bitching and moaning about MS using “unfair” tactics to take their market share. Well I say, make a decent product and they won’t loose it, no matter what MS does.
Quicktime and Windows Media are still the best.
