Titled “Doc McStuffins Goes to Washington,” the episode incorporates key messages surrounding the First Lady’s Let’s Move! initiative, which helps kids and families lead healthier lives through eating healthy and staying active. Let’s Move! is about putting children on the path to a healthy future during their earliest months and years; giving parents helpful information and fostering environments that support healthy choices; providing healthier foods in our schools; ensuring that every family has access to healthy, affordable food; and helping children become more physically active. Last November, the First Lady hosted military families at The White House for a private screening of a special Veterans Day episode of “Doc McStuffins.”
Disney Junior’s Peabody Award-winning “Doc McStuffins” is an imaginative animated series about Doc McStuffins, a six-year-old girl who communicates with and heals stuffed animals and broken toys out of her backyard playhouse clinic. Showcasing the hallmarks of great Disney storytelling – fantasy and wish fulfillment – the series models compassion and good health for kids age 2-7.
Created and executive-produced by Humanitas Prize and Emmy Award-winning Chris Nee and directed by Emmy-winning Norton Virgien, “Doc McStuffins” is a production of Dublin, Ireland’s Brown Bag Films in association with Disney Channel. The Hollywood Health & Society division of the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center serves as its health and medical consultants, advising on basic health issues that are relevant to young kids and families. “Doc McStuffins” airs daily on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
