the drop 5

The Drop is based on a short story by Dennis Lehane (Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone), who also wrote the script. It’s the story of a bartender who finds himself between a rock and hard place when the bar where he works is robbed – it’s a mob-owned enterprise – and finds himself in the middle of an investigation that digs into the neighborhood’s past.

Two new clips have been released featuring Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini. Check them out after the jump. The Drop premieres on September 12th.

Of Course You Realize… This Means War!

this means war

This Means War is a truly bizarre mash-up of bromance, romantic comedy, spy flick and Bugs Bunny. Tonally, it’s all over the place and, frankly, it makes sense only infrequently. Prior to its release, I could say with confidence that I had never actually felt guilty about liking a movie. Now, I’m flummoxed.

It’s Bat vs. Cat!

Warners announced, this morning, that Anne Hathaway has been cast in the role of Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s Drak Knight rises. In the same announcement, Tom Hardy’s role was revealed to be Bane, the luchador-masked, super-steroid-pumped villain who broke Batman’s back in the comics.

“I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies,” Nolan said in a statement.
