The Overlook Film Festival, a four-day celebration of all things horror will return to New Orleans for its 3rd edition, taking place May 30 through June 2, 2019.
The festival will showcase exciting work in new and classic horror cinema, live events, and its trademark interactive activities where attendees can become immersed in the diverse world of the genre space.

The Overlook Film Festival announced its lineup today and one of the key announcements was that legendary independent writer-director-producer Roger Corman would receive the festival’s first Master of Horror Award.
The festival has an impressive feature film and shorts lineup – including four world premieres (Blood Drive, Still/Born, Capture and Primal Screen) and such anticipated films as Lady Macbeth, Metal Machine Kodoku and The Untamed.
There will also be a festival-long immersive horror game and much more.
Over its inaugural weekend, the Overlook Film Festival will present 37 films (20 features and 17 shorts from 16 countries) – including a secret closing film described as ‘a hotly anticipated film from a bold voice in film.’
The Overlook Film Fest is a new genre fest that will provide a unique experience in a unique setting – the iconic Timberline Lodge (seen in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining) in Mt. Hood, Oregon..
Running from April 27-30, 2017, The Overlook Film Festival is planning on showcasing ‘experiential events, exciting work in new and classic horror cinema, and interactive activities where attendees can be fully immersed in the diverse world of the genre space’ – and a mix of films including ‘festival favorites, fresh discoveries and bonafide classics’ to go with the fest’s live events.
The festival is the brainchild of festival veterans Michael Lerman (Artistic Director for both the Palm Springs Intl. Film Festival and Philadelphia Film Festival) and Landon Zakheim (a short film programmer for the Sundance Film Festival, senior programmer for the Philadelphia Film Festival and head shorts programmer for the LA Film Festival).
The Overlook Film Festival advisory board includes such lumineries as Joe Dante, Mick Garris, Stuart Gordon and Elijah Wood.
