Wistful Trailer: Transparent–Amazon’s New Transgender Dramedy!


After a lifetime of ‘dressing up… as a man,’ Mort Pfefferman decides it’s time to be her real self – Maura. The thing is, Maura/Mort has three grown children with his ex-wife, Shelly, who have to deal with her change.

That, in short, is the premise for Amazon’s new series from Jill Solloway (Six Feet Under), Transparent, starring Jeffrey Tambor, Judith Light (Dallas) as Maura’s ex-wife Shelly, while Gaby Hoffmann (Girls), Amy Landecker (Louie) and Jay Duplass (Togetherness) play Maura and Shelly’s children. Transparent premieres its ten-episode first season on Amazon Prime on September 26th.
